Meet the Owners

Karl Mears is a seasoned educator, business owner, and leader whose career reflects a steady commitment to growth, service, and community impact. A 1986 graduate of Southeastern University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics, Karl began his professional journey with a strong analytical foundation that would shape both his teaching and entrepreneurial pursuits.
He spent several years in education, serving as a teacher and coach in Livingston Parish Public Schools from 1999 to 2005. During this time, Karl influenced countless students both in the classroom and on the field, earning respect for his discipline, mentorship, and ability to inspire young people.
In 2004, while still in education, Karl took a bold step into entrepreneurship by purchasing the family-owned business Razorback Rentals, LLC. Starting with just a single truck, he steadily built the company into a thriving operation with a fleet of ten trucks, now serving customers across Mississippi, Louisiana, and the broader Southeast. His hands-on leadership and long-term vision have been key drivers of the company’s growth and reputation.
Karl has also been deeply involved in professional and community leadership. He served as President of the LMTA from 2021 to 2022 and continues to contribute as a current board member. In addition, he holds the role of Board Chair of the Council of Past Presidents, where he helps guide ongoing initiatives and supports future leadership.
Throughout his career, Karl Mears has demonstrated a rare blend of academic rigor, entrepreneurial drive, and servant leadership, leaving a lasting impact in education, industry, and his professional community.
